There`s a memorial this Sunday in Elliot Lake for a retired chief administration officer at City Hall. Sven Bloom passed away earlier this month at the age 83. Bloom started work for the municipality in 1957 shortly after the uranium boom started in Elliot Lake. By 1968 he was the Town`s clerk-treasurer and eight years later became CAO until he retired in 1989. Bloom`s memorial is at the Elliot Lake Funeral Chapel from 1:00pm to 4:00pm Sunday and that`s followed by a memorial service Monday morning at 11:00am at the Holy Trinity United Church.
