The Algoma District School Board almost had a $1 million surplus from the last school year. At the end of the 2014-15 school year, the board had $973,000 left over. This money has been added to the board`s reserve fund which now sits at $13.5 million. The surplus was the result of higher than normal grants from the province plus some savings on supply teacher replacements.
