Highway 108 to be re-surfaced

Highway 108 in Elliot Lake is one of several northern highways benefitting from a provincial highway program.  Twenty-three kilometres south of the city will be re-surfaced thanks to the Northern Highways Program.  In addition, some culverts will be replaced and guide rails improved.  In total, the province is spending $69-million on various highway projects.  A big multi-year project is re-surfacing Highway 144 from Sudbury to Timmins with the first phase taking place between Cartier and Onaping.  Other work will see extra passing lanes built on Highway east of Sudbury between Verner and Sturgeon Falls and on Highway 69, the French River Bridge will be rehabilitated and turned into a service road once the four-laning of Highway 69 is finished.
