School board suggests students volunteer over the summer

With the summer holidays just about here, the last thing most students are thinking about is school.   However the Rainbow board wants high school students and those in Grade 8 to do some volunteering over the summer.   High school students need 40 hours of community service as part of their graduation requirements.  The board says if Grade 8 students can squeeze in 10 hours of volunteer work over the summer, it gives them a head start on the graduation condition.  Rainbow says when students volunteer, they not only strengthen their community but they might also get some valuable work experience.
