A long-time popular tourist trail on Manitoulin is closed until further notice. The trail is the Cup and Saucer hiking route. Don Eadie Construction owns most of the trail and company owner Casson Eadie told the Expositor closing the trail was not an easy choice. The decision boils down to not having enough money to keep it open. Making matters worse, Eadie plans to show the area to a timber interest this week. That means trees might be cut down and that creates a danger for hikers. Eadie says if someone has an alternative that can re-open the trail, he wants to hear from them.
