Elliot Lake Mayor Dan Marchisella has lost a move to dissolve a committee he believes has done virtually nothing to advance the waterfront homes program. Marchisella called for the dissolution of the ad hoc Phase Two Waterfront Development Committee. But every councillor opposed the move for various reasons. For example, deputy mayor Luc Cyr said it’s premature to cancel the group and that every effort needs to be made to get the project back on track. And Tammy Vanroon says the committee shouldn’t be dissolved until the project is deemed a success.
